John F. Leslie Woodland Walk

Take a leisurely walk of approximately one hour’s duration amid the natural woodlands of Leslie’s Wood and the scenic views of the River Shannon.

Illuminated Historical Bronzes

Tarbert’s Historical Illuminated Bronzes represent key historical eras along this section of the lordly Shannon Estuary. They follow a loosely chronological time-frame, representative of major historical periods, reflective of the religious, political, military and commercial life of the region.

The Fitness Zone

Tarbert has a free and open Fitness Zone which is open to anyone over the age of 15, stocked with all-weather Kompan exercise equipment, including Cross Trainer, Flex Wheel and Power Bike.

The playground will keep kids entertained with a full compliment of swings, slides and climbing frames.

Memorial Plaza

The two memorials erected here at the V road junction commemorate the tragic loss of young life in the Shannon Boating Tragedy of 1893 and the Two World Wars.

Thomas MacGreevy

Thomas MacGreevy was a pivotal figure in the history of Irish literary modernism and was born here in Tarbert. His house remains in use by the MacGreevy family and there is an exhibition dedicated to his life and works at Tarbert Bridewell.
